Hello,
Welcome to another stat filled quarterly check-in. I am still struggling on the whole work/life balance while dealing with chronic pain but I am slowly getting into a better routine so fingers crossed and I can start posting here at least once a week. Also I will be finished with my studies at the end of the year so that is going to free up a lot of time!
I am still reeling that we are already halfway through the year. Like where did the time go? To celebrate I am bringing the pie charts back! Yay for charts!
These stats look at all the books I’ve read in July, August and September. While I read them in 2023 not all the books have been released in 2023.

Goal: 52

I am stupidly happy with how I am progress with my Around the World in 52 book challenge. This might just be the best I’ve ever done. I doubt I am going to finish it because there are a few prompts which I am stalling on as they don’t really interest me — here’s looking at you prompt 39: Read a Western.
I have stalled with my Finishing Series challenge and haven’t made any additional progress on this list of 20-ish books I’ve picked to read but I have finished off some other series that I in the middle off so that’s a win. I think I will focus on reading only sequels in November and maybe December as well

I have had an amazing reading quarter and I’ve enjoyed a vast majority of the book I’ve read which is honestly such a win! I gave 14 books a 5 stars rating, 15 received 4.5 stars rating, 12 have received 4 stars, 4 have received 3.5 stars.
Given that 3.5 stars is the lowest rating I’ve given I guess I am getting better at picking what books will work for me.
My average rating is 4.4 stars.

Here are my 5 star reads from July, August & September!

I am did not really read outside of my favourite genres this quarter but given how stressed I’ve been with work and uni and I’ve had what seems like a never ending pain flare up I am okay with this. I might try and squeeze in some different genres next quarter which will also hopefully get some me tackling my physical TBR.
To break the genres down, I have read 12 romance books, 7 fantasy, 20 paranormal and 2 historical fiction books.

No surprise here that I am mainly reading books targeted to an adult audience. It makes sense when you look at what the above genre breakdown.
I am a little sad to see that on the 43 books I’ve read this quarter none were middle grade. Fingers crossed I can pick up a few middle grade titles in the next quarter.
I read 3 Young Adult and 40 Adult titles.

Digital books are reigning supreme was my favoured format this quarter. Not a big surprise since I’ve been reading a lot of audiobooks and KU books. They been amazing in letting me read when I’m needing a break from the screen or having a bad pain day.
My guilt for not getting to my physical TBR is still riding at an all time high. My TBR jar is helping to get some of the physical books that have been on my TBR forever but there is also a ton of KU and audio tiles in there so it is a real lucky dip.
I read a total of 12 physical books (10 paperbacks, 1 physical ARC and 1 hardbacks) and 31 digital books (8 eBooks, 20 audiobooks and 3 eARCs).

I will always be a series reader, what can I say when I love a world and the character I just don’t want to leave. I am thrilled to see that the number of sequels I’ve read this month as suprassed the number of first books. Thank god I spent July mainly reading sequels, and I will be looking to do that again in November.
I think I will stick to the plan of having 1 month a quarter where I read only sequels.
I read 30 series books (15 first books and 25 sequels) compared to 3 standalones.

That’s all for me. Comment down below and let me know how you’re reading challenges are going so far and what books have been your favourite so far
Until next time, happy reading
