“You could glitter bomb my entire life, and I wouldn’t care.”

I will start by saying that I was given an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. Thank so much Devyn and the team over Chaotic Creatives for sending a copy my way!

This is a sequel but can be read as a standalone. I would recommend reading the other books in this series because they are also fantastic!

Five years ago I found my mate… and he has no idea.

I’ve spent my entire life doing two things: training to be a ballet dancer, and longing for a scent-match. My feet bled for one, and my heart bled for the other.

Then my first heat hit, and my deepest dream became my darkest secret.

I scent-matched with my best friend, and ran.

It’s been five years since I last saw him—happily in someone else’s arms—and I couldn’t bear to break his heart.

But that was before. Before he joined my dance company, anger and grief in his eyes. Before I matched with the rest of his pack, whose scents drive me to the best kind of madness. Before I begged for forgiveness, even if I can never forgive myself.

But the more time I spend with them, the more I see the future I always wanted. A love that sweeps me away, keeps me safe, and never lets me go.

Every day, I fall deeper, and as I do, the more they see the truth: No matter how long it’s been, I never gave up on that dream. Knot for a moment.

I did not think I was going to love a book in this series more than I did the first two, but I was so wrong. I completely adore Knot for a Moment. It has become an instant favourite. I love the dynamic between Sloane and the Lys Pack.

Sloane has dedicated her life to dance and has finally landed her dream role of being a principal dancer at Slate City’s Ballet Company. Despite landing this role, she’s feeling lonely as she wants her friends to find their scent-match packs and fall in love. Sloane always wanted that but knows it is not for her, especially since she found it and walked away. After her first heat, she knew her best friend, Ash, was her fated mate, but she walked away. She told no one, and the loneliness has been slowly suffocating her. She never expected to see Ash again or have to explain why she left. That was before Ash joined the Slate City Ballet Company as another principal dancer, and his pack mates are one of the business executives and one of the physios of the company. Sloane needs to navigate Ash’s hurt and anger and the drive to be with his pack, all while trying to survive an intense rehearsal schedule as the company’s new creative director pushes their first show up by three weeks.

Sloane is one of the strongest characters I have read. She refuses to back down from the gruelling 12-hour rehearsals and snide comments the creative director throws her way. She signed a contract agreeing to extra rehearsal hours. She feels trapped in suffering through these intense rehearsals as the company’s first show of the season is moved forward. My heart aches for her as she’s used to looking out for herself. As a kid, her parents left her with her grandmother so they could travel the world. When we discover why she walked away from Ash and how she was willing to risk her happiness for him had me tearing up. I adored watching Sloane learn to lean on Ash and the rest of the Lys pack, Gabriel, Jace and Roman for support.

The Lys Pack might be my favourite pack in this world. Ash was Sloane’s best friend growing up. He comes from a rough childhood and dance is his way to escape. Gabriel is the leader of the pack. He is your classic stoic businessman with a kink streak a mile wide, who is a secret marshmallow for his Omega. Jace is the charming joker of the group but will do anything and everything within his power to make sure Sloane has all she needs to rehearse and perform at a high level. The last member of the pack is Roman, the gentle giant who has a hard time communicating and talking to those outside his pack, after years of bullying due to his dyslexia. He is a renowned sculptor who uses his art to express his feelings.

I would never expected that you could have a second chance romance in this kind of fated mates set-up, but I adored it and the hint of extra angst it brought up. The relationship with Sloane and the pack unfolds in different ways. When they first meet, the group doesn’t have a lot of time to get to know each other as outside of rehearsals, Sloane and Ash only have enough energy to eat and sleep. Sloane has a habit of overthinking and being stuck in her head. I love seeing how each of the guys can boost her confidence and get her out of her spiralling thoughts. The spicy in here is hot. We have several group scenes alongside some one-on-one scenes.

I love the way Devyn does Omegaverse. There is just something about having these Alpha males she creates who are willing to do all they can to ensure their Omega is happy and healthy. It is not a chore for them as they get a sense of satisfaction from it. Also, the fact they have open and clear communication to ensure there is no miscommunication is so sexy. I know there are a lot of dark Omegaverse romances out here, so I adore how equally sweet and spicy this one is.

I adore that we get to see Preta and Esme from the first two books. I love getting to see how their relationships with their packs unfold. It is wonderful to see that Sloane has several friends and her eccentric grandmother – honestly, when I grow up, I want to be this woman – who loves and supports her.

Knot for a Moment is one of my favourite reads of the year. I highly recommend it if you are an Omegaverse fan or a paranormal romance fan. I’m excited to read more of Devyn Sinclair’s backlist.
