“Whether it’s this world or the next, you will never be alone, Ari.”

I will start by saying that I wI will start by saying that I was given an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. Thank so much Devyn and the team over Chaotic Creatives for sending a copy my way!

This is a sequel; I will try and keep my review as spoiler free as possible but just be wary if you haven’t read first book, Queen of Darkness & Queen of Torment.

They gave up everything for each other. Now they’ll give up everything to save the world.

I tried to end the war and failed.

Hell has a new queen. One obsessed with ending my life and the lives of my lovers. She will stop at nothing.

My angels and I are on the run, and nowhere is safe to hide. But the fate of the world is in our hands.

We unleashed Hell, and have no other choice but to destroy it.

I am the only one who can.

We have one last chance to defeat our enemies, or face our own annihilation.

Wow just wow. Queen of Annihilation was a successful conclusion to the series. This was a hard-fought battle, but it just made the HEA all that sweeter.

I adore how each sequel in this series picks up right where the previous one left off. If we thought things were bad before since Nissa has taken the throne of Hell and all rules of engagement are off. She’s determined to play dirty to take over Earth. The angles have this amazing sentient library that helps them understand what Nissa is doing and how she manages to gain control quickly. The library helps them uncover knowledge about Hell that was hidden by the previous, corrupt Holy Trinity.

Arielle must be one of the strongest characters I’ve read. She has literally been through Hell and back and she’s barely recovered from the trauma she faced in Queen of Torment and she’s now willing to risk her life to save the world. Honestly, it couldn’t be me. This woman deserves a break! I did love the moments we had where she rages against it and laments that her life hasn’t been fair, and she shouldn’t have risked her life, which feels so authentic. But still, she pushes that down, dives back into her training and comes up with a plan to defeat Nissa and the Infernal Flame.

Arielle’s willingness to risk her life does cause some tension between her and her angels. They try their hardest to find another option, but the angels quickly realise that Arielle’s way is the only way to end the war for good. The ending was so good. I loved how they take time for each other, which is well deserved. We get several steamy group scenes in this one, which helps balance out the heavy, serious nature of the war plot.

I love the dynamic between the guys. There is no sword crossing but that way Sol, Atlas, Cassian and Kai can get along and build a friendship making the why choose dynamic seem believable. The scene where Kai gets everyone gelato including Cassian just melted my heart. This is extra important given the bloody history and rivalry between Cassian, our fallen angel, and Sol, Atlas and Kai who are the new Holy Trinity.

Highly recommend this whole series if you are in the mood for a why choose paranormal romance, which includes some darker themes. Can’t wait to read more of Devyn Sinclair’s backlist.
