“It took me no time at all to see those things, and even if not one of them was true, you’re still a person, Isolde. You matter.”
I will start by saying that I was given an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. These opinions are my own. Thank you so much to Devyn for sending a copy my way!
What do you do when your sister’s getting married and your ex is the best man?
Being dumped sucks. Being dumped after four years and getting kicked out of the house? That sucks more.
Sadly, I can’t avoid him forever. Not when he’s the best man in my sister’s wedding. But like hell am I facing him alone.
So how can a painfully single Omega get out of this mess? Not a clue, but I’ll tell you what not to do. Ready?Don’t hire a pack of male escorts to take you to the wedding. If you do, you can’t sleep with them. No matter how incredible they smell or how well they treat you.
Definitely don’t let them take care of you, and don’t let them show you pleasure you’ve never had before.
And you absolutely cannot, under any circumstances, fall in love with them. They’re not yours.
Because when everything is said and done, this is just pretend… right?
I am obsessed with Devyn Sinclair’s brand of Omegaverse! There is something so sweet and cozy about it, even with the hard emotional trauma our main girl, Isolde, is dealing with. Endless proves that I will hands down pick up anything and everything Devyn Sinclair writes.
Isolde is finally heading back home to Clarity Coast after being dumped by her ex and kicked out of her home of four years. She is only coming home for her sister’s wedding. What makes things worse is her ex is also at the wedding party as the Best Man. Isolde cannot face the humiliation of showing up alone while also facing the man who completely broke her heart and shattered her confidence. So, in a drunken state, she decides the only way to save face is to hire a pack of male escorts to accompany her. Isolde was not expecting the St. James pack to be full of drop-dead gorgeous men who smell amazing and want nothing more than to take care of her. Isolde has to remind herself that it is all just pretend. She can’t fall in love with them, right?
The escort coming along to a family event has to be one of my all-time favourite fake dating setups. And it was done to perfection. The St. James pack quickly recognise that Isolde is their scent-matched omega. They throw all their rules out the window and tell Isolde their real names. They understand that Isolde has gone through a traumatic break up that has shattered her self-esteem and are willing to take things slow. They delay telling her they are scent-matched because Isolde would likely run for the hill. This gives them the perfect chance to let Isolde get to know them and slowly help to heal her anxiety and heartache. I adore the dynamic of this pack and how they each take care of Isolde in their own way. These guys definitely fall first, and they fall hard. I adore Devyn’s take on Omegaverse. We see each guy trying to woo Isolde and prove that they can take care of her. Honestly, it just makes me swoon. Now, the steam in here is electric! And consent is at the heart of every steamy scene, which yes! There is nothing sexier than consent. We had a truly hot primal scene that felt me panting. I also loved the Shibari scene and the boudoir photoshoot. As mentioned, this is an Omegaverse so you can expect all fun things like knots and heats.
Isolde has had her life turned upside down when her ex dumped her. She feels it came out of nowhere. She lost her home and job because of the break up. Needing to heal, she flees to the other side of the country. Isolde spends most of the book battling her feelings for the St. James pack. Her friends try their hardest to convince her that even if the arrangement is temporary, Isolde deserves to experience the care and pleasure the pack is willing to offer her. Thankfully, she doesn’t take too long to give in. One of the most heartbreaking parts of this novel is that she realised how badly her ex treated her throughout the relationship compared to how the St. James pack treats her. So, she is grieving the memories and realising that, for the first time, she is finally getting the care and safety she deserves. She feels like an idiot for not seeing the cracks in her past relationship sooner, which felt so relatable. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
The guys in the St. James pack might just be my favourite that I have read from Devyn. The pack includes four alphas—Hawke, Rowan, Vaugh and Joel – and one beta, Cade. The pack decided to get into the escort scene as they had given up on ever having an omega of their own. They figured they could use escorting to fulfil their needs to care and protect. Hawke is the charming goofball of the group. Music is his passion. Hawke has a successful social media following based on the anonymous covers he posts. Rowan is the strong and silent one of the group. He enjoys making edibles, which honestly sounded fantastic. Vaugh is the jock of the group. He is a scuba instructor, loves spending time on the beach and is more than happy to chase you. Joel is the ultimate caretaker. The way he took care of Isolde made me swoon. He is the perfect form of aftercare. And then we have Cade, our beta and Shibari instructor. While he is not an alpha, Cade calmly exudes dominance and confidence. I loved the way he explained the BDSM dynamic to Isolde and highlighted the importance of safety and consent.
I adore it when a romance includes healthy female friendships in a book. Isolde friendship with Trinity and Ocean has been her saving grace through her self-imposed isolation. I loved the ballgown bowling tradition. I am excited to see more from Trinity and Ocean in the rest of the series.
Endless was my perfect brand of Omegaverse. I am fully obsessed with this world. The coast setting has me waiting to pack up and move to the nearest beach town. I will be impatiently counting down the days for the sequel.
