“You make everything better, I want to say. And make everything so much worse.”

I will start by saying that I was given an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. These opinions are my own. Thank you so much to E.P. Bali for sending a copy my way!

I will try and keep my review as spoiler free as possible but just be wary if you haven’t read the first two books, Her Feral Beasts & Her Rabid Beasts.

My secret is finally out. I am a Boneweaver, and the last of my kind: A beast who can shift into any other. Now there’s an elephant sized target on my back and two people I love have been taken from me.

In order to get them back, I’m going to have to do the unthinkable: present myself to the most dangerous beasts of the underworld and Scythe Kharkorous is going to help me do it. The Great White shark with the sharp, cold eyes has plans no one can guess at and the devastating secret he’s about to reveal to me will turn my world upside down.

Everything is about to change.

So much has just happened and my brain is reeling. I have no idea where the story will go from here, but I need to know! I feel like I leave these books with so many questions. I might need to start rereading this series now since I love these characters and this world.

My obsession with this series knows no bounds. Lyle has been demoted and replaced with a true odious phoenix animalia. He is slimy and clear covering Aurelia’s power. Thankfully we don’t spend too much time at the academy as Aurelia and her guys make some moves to show off Aurelia’s power and try to find the Cobra King’s weakness. I adore what we see of this world as we dive into the underworld. Scythe is the head of a powerful crime family, and he uses his power to try and help Aurelia. I adore all the scheming moments. The mafia romance vibes in here were perfection.

Girl, Aurelia. I love you but I think you are way over your head. But I get it, especially when she discovers what her father has been doing and his plans for her. The feeling of rage we get is powerful and justified. We are getting to see Aurelia become confident in her power – even if her rage has made her make some careless moves.  I adore how protective she is of her friends. I’m so glad she has them considering how complex her relationships with her mates are. I am excited to see how Aurelia’s powers continue to develop as she encounters new animalias.

Scythe is the main hero of this story. I loved learning more the Marine animalia and how land psychosis impacts them. Marine animalia are never away from the water too much as they start to lose their mind. Scythe is seen as an anomaly because he’s been on land since childhood. The insight we get into his childhood is equally dark as Savage’s. However, because of his otherworldly beauty, he was sex trafficked rather than placed in the fighting rings. Thankfully he was able to take his revenge and protect his brother from their horrible father. I loved getting a look at his softer side. Yes, he is a cold ruthless crime boss but what he’s done for those who are innocent and need protection was so sweet.

The romances are developing at different paces which I love about a why choose. Lyle and Savage are 100% devoted to Aurelia and we are getting all the domestic bliss moments. My heart aches for them when Aurelia makes her move at the end of the book. Scythe has finally, finally made his move and I love seeing them get together. I am still not over what he did. I know he thinks it was the right thing to do but he handled it poorly. The angst is high with these two. Xander is still grumpy and full of disdain. Honestly, no idea how we are coming back from here but the grovel we do get better be spectacular. And then we have Ghoul who is the literal enemy. I don’t trust him. All I can say is that he better help Aurelia in the next book as she has gotten well and truly over her head.

We have another caretaking scene in here, this time a period scene – which yes let’s normalise having romance books and books include periods. The way Savage and Lyle took care of Aurelia made me swoon. Also, Savage gets bonus points for waiting to bodily harm the person who invented the tampon tax.

Safe to say, I am fully obsessed with this series and Her Psycho Beasts. The wait for the sequel, Her Tortured Beasts, will be long. Queue the book hangover. If you love a paranormal, why choose romance and haven’t picked this up, you need to do yourself a favour and read it. It has an intense, crazy plot with an enemies to lovers, fated mates, why choose romance. What more can you ask for?
