“But my omega is sad. And he wants me to burn the world to the group. Chill, dude. We can just cuddle her. No arson necessary.”

I will start by saying that I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. These opinions are my own. Thank you so much to Ari and Hambright PR for sending a copy my way!

She’s out of their league… but they’re still playing for keeps.

You know the phrase, “It is what it is?” Well, for Bridget Woods, it is what you make it.

But even she has to admit… this situation seems pretty hopeless.

She accepted the Locke Pack’s ridiculous offer so she could finally find some control over her life. Sure, they were a hot mess and she definitely hated them, but Bridget was never a girl to shy away from a challenge.

She also never expected she would be splashed across media headlines, outed as the famous pro-baseball players’ “fake fiancée.” There’s only one way to save face—the atrocious alphas have to double-down and move in with her.

With four strong-willed men invading her space, Bridget soon finds out her beloved independence might be a little hard to swing. Big-bat-wielding alphas who smell like her own personal heaven? All up in her business (not to mention her tiny bedroom)?

It sounds like a fun, naughty dream she had once. But now the men who only wanted Bridget as a showpiece are suddenly treating her like she might be their mate… And making sure she knows exactly how much they want their fake engagement to become the real deal.

Can Bridget still walk-off without catching feelings? Or will these players beat her at her own game?

Who knew all I needed in my life was a fake engagement turned fated mates omegaverse? And boy, did I need this! Knot Her Catch is the second book I’ve read by Ari Wright and the first one I’ve read in this series. All I want to do is go back and devour the entire series.

Bridget is an omega and she’s stuck. She’s not your typical omega. She’s plus-size, and her lemon scent is heavily acidic and has turned every suitor away. Bridget is currently stuck living with her controlling sister and her sister’s creepy husband, who keeps making advances. When an old high school acquaintance, Jesse Locke, reaches out with the proposal for a fake engagement, she jumps at the chance, figuring it is the only way to claim some freedom. Jesse is the pitcher for the Kings’ baseball team. His pack needs some serious PR help. His pack mates, Dante and Colt, have been embracing the limelight and partying lifestyle. The Kings’ management warned they would cut ties if they didn’t improve their conduct and stay out of the news. The plan is working, until it’s leaked to the media that their engagement is fake. To save face, the Locke pack moves into her tiny house. Things are different this time; the alphas are acting like they are interested in her. Once the media dies down and the deal runs its course, will Bridget be able to walk away without her heart breaking?

I adore Bridget. She is a plus-size omega, which, as a plus-size girly, I love to see. I appreciate Ari Wright so much for writing her. Bridget spent most of her life being told she’s defective, that there is something “clearly” wrong with her. This ceaseless barrage from her family convinces Bridget she’s not good enough and no pack would ever want her. Since it’s all she heard, Bridget had just adopted this and has a negative self-image. But her attitude would not betray that. She is endlessly optimistic, fills her life with colour and will give her all to everything she does. However, we get glimpses that she doesn’t believe it when the guys show interest in her, and she thinks it’s all because of their fake engagement. The damage that Bridget’s family did to her confidence and her overall health was horrible. It was wonderful to see how the Locke Pack helps build her confidence.

My lord, this pack is an absolute mess at the start. It’s no wonder that they were falling to pieces since Dante, Colt and Jesse could not express their feeling for anything outside baseball. Thank the gods for Adrian! This man deserves a gold star as he practically strong-armed this pack together. Dante is our flirty playboy who’s obsessed with food. I love the little midnight snack sessions Dante and Bridget have. Colt is our brooding bad boy. Baseball was his way out of poverty. He fully embraced the high life. One drunk driving accident left him injured and his career in jeopardy. I adored how he kept stealing books from Bridget’s library and how, despite claiming to be uninterested, he listened to everything she had to say about her day and the struggles of being a high school teacher. Jesse is such a sweetheart. He was struggling to keep the pack together before Adrian took over the head alpha role. He’s so confident at baseball but sucks at pretty much everything else, including letting Bridget know he’s always been interested in her. Adrian is the club’s general manager and was only interested in joining the Locke Pack because of Bridget. He is determined to have Bridget as his omega. Adrian’s a man who will take charge. He steamrolls the pack to move in with Bridget under the guise of fixing the PR nightmare this pack has landed in, but really, he wants to court Bridget and make this pack his home. I feel without Adrian, the rest of them would’ve imploded.

The relationship gets off to a wrong start thanks to murky communication and misinterpretations. Bridget’s ingrained belief that no one will be interested in her makes her appear blunt and uncaring when negotiating the terms of their fake engagement. Jesse, Colt and Dante aren’t the greatest at communicating their interest, so cue the chaos. I love how Bridget slowly gets to know the guys while they are forced to live together. Tensions are high, and I ate that up! That scene at the gala — if you know, you know — I was so stressed, but was so relieved when we got the big reveal. I was squealing and kicking my feet. It was utter perfection! Also, the scene where Adrian and Jesse take her nest shopping! So good!

I will say that since this is an interconnected series where each book follows different packs, you can start here. We see the packs from the earlier books. I especially loved the scene of the girls getting ready for the gala. I am excited to read their stories.

Ari Wright writes my brand of sweet omegaverse. I’m a little sad I didn’t pick this up sooner, as this series has been on my list for quite a while. But better late than never! If you love an omegaverse and want messy characters with a sports romance flavour, Knot Her Catch is the book for you.
