“So you turned me into some sort of love-crazed floozy?”

I will start by saying that I will start by saying that I was given an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. Thank so much Crystal and the team over at Chaotic Creatives for sending a copy my way!

Forsaken Vows. A Shift in Time. And Four Gods Who Threaten To Tear Apart The Very Fabric of her Entire World…and Soul…

Soraya thought her wedding day would be unforgettable, but finding her fiancé cheating moments before the ‘I do’, passing out at the altar, and waking up in an entirely different world — or rather, a different time — surrounded by gods who are as infuriating as they are irresistible was not what she had in mind.

Thrust into a realm where time bends and gods bicker, Soraya finds herself playing peacemaker to feuding Norse gods, each a walking embodiment of desire and power, and more breathtaking than the last.

Cursed to stay locked within time and space, Thor, Loki, Sky, and Ivan never expected Soraya to drop into their prison. But as their fates intertwine, and they find themselves navigating through a maze of passion, intrigue, and simmering tensions, one thing becomes clear: Soraya is not only the key to their salvation, she is the missing piece in their fractured existence.

As tensions simmer and egos clash, Soraya can’t deny that all four Norsemen have woven themselves into her heart. Somewhere between keeping the peace, navigating her new reality, their electrifying touches, and lingering looks, they start to challenge everything she thought she knew about love.

And in the process, they begin to unravel secrets that promise to change everything.

Frozen in Time was such a fun time. I devoured it and was smiling and giggling the whole way through. It has this addictive quality that hooked me from the get-go and didn’t let up until the final page.

Soraya has had a tough life; her family was murdered. She feels lonely, isolated and like she doesn’t belong and finds herself marrying a truly horrible man. This man clearly doesn’t care about her or her interests and sees her as a status symbol. In fact, the man is cheating on her on their wedding day. Thankfully, her bestie, Savannah, intervenes and gifts her a necklace. The necklace transports Soraya to an alternative Iceland where Norse Gods, Thor, Loki, Sky and Ivan, are trapped in a different time and space. The group was cursed to stay here until Thor and Loki learned to live together peacefully.

I loved seeing Soraya’s confidence and belief in herself grow throughout the narrative and her relationship with the four Norsemen. She has been dreaming of going to Iceland for the longest time. There might be a specific reason she’s drawn here. Her relationship with Savannah is so wholesome – we love to see a supportive female friendship. It was hilarious that Savannah was doing her all to convince Soraya to pursue the relationship with all four guys when Soraya was conflicted and refused to help her come home. They can communicate through Soraya’s necklace.

Thor and Loki have been trapped with their best friends by Odin until they learn to get along. Thor is an arrogant and entitled prince. I loved seeing his character development throughout. It gave me Thor in their first MCU Thor movie. Loki is our morally grey hero who seems a little peeved that he isn’t getting the thorn and loves to cause chaos with his illusions. Sky and Ivan are absolute sweethearts who honestly have the patience of saints to deal with the sibling’s constant bickering. The pair only seem to be stuck here to ensure that Thor and Loki don’t kill each other.

This is a why choose romance, which I love. There is some delicious tension at the start when the four guys show their interest in Soraya. I loved the little solo and group date they took Soraya on. They manage to show her exactly what she’s worth and what she deserves, which just makes me swoon. There isn’t a ton of steam in here, but when it hit wow! Loved that we get a full-on group scene, which left me panting in the extended epilogue.

I wish Frozen in Time was a little bit longer so we could get a little bit more of the romance development once why choose element kicks in. We also get a ton of world-building as the group heads back to Asgard and a twist about Soraya’s past kicks in. It would have been nice to see a little bit more of Soraya coming to terms with the revealed and the outcome of it. Maybe I am being a little selfish since I do love Soraya and love the tension when she develops her relationship and feelings for Thor, Loki, Sky and Ivan. I just wished we got to see more. Also, I wanted more of the mythological elements because I am a sucker for anything myth related.

If you love the sound of a time travel romance with an MCU-style Norse Mythology twist, I highly recommend it!
