Hello!
I’m here today with another Lit Chat. This series was inspired by Lauren from Lauren and the Books over on YouTube and the Lit Chat cards created by BookRiot.
Today’s card is A Wrinkle in Time
Is there a particular book or series you associate most with your childhood?
There are two series that remind me most of my childhood, they are the Royal Diaries series published by scholasitc and The Dragon Keeper series by Carole Wilkinson.
The Royal Diaries series includes around 20 books which were fictional diaries of a real female figures of royalty as a children which explain world history. This is probably were my love of historical fiction comes from. I just remember spending hours at out local library picking which diary I’d read next.
I am hoping to track down copies of these books so I can reread them!
When I was in grade 5 or 6, our school brought back reading as part of our weekly homework and we had a few bookcases in the classroom to pick from. Dragonkeeper was the first book I picked up because, dragons. It was also the first book I read with a Asian setting.
Also I just recently found out that is series as another three books in it and I am so excited to get back into this world.
Is there a book or series you feel every child should read?
Hmm this is a hard choice, I wold say it’s important to give kids books that are entertaining and they will enjoy. Book series like Nevermoor by Jessica Townsend and Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling. These series really help to spark the love to reading.
That’s it for me. Comment down below and let me know what book you most associate with your childhood.
Until next time, happy reading!
