Hello,
Today I thought I’d do a tag post because they are fun. This tag has been created by Sofi of @A Book. A Thought.
The idea of this tag is a create your perfect book or story based on the book we have read. It’s almost like making your own Frankenstein’s monster but choosing the best parts such as the perfect main character or all time best ending.
To make the challenge slightly harder, you cannot choose the same book twice.
Onto the tag!
The Perfect Genre
What genre would your perfect book be?
Pick A Book That Represents Perfectly Its Genre
After much deliberation, I decided to go with Fantasy. For me, Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow fits my ideal fantasy book. It was a whimsical and totally engrossing world, with a cast of engaging characters and a kickass adventure.
The Perfect Setting
Because every story needs the perfect setting.
Pick A Book That Takes Place In A Perfect Place
I love by books to be set a royal courts and have the characters try and navigate the political climate. Wicked Saints highlights this perfectly. Also I’m a fan of books set in cold climates such as Scotland, Russia, Iceland which is another setting in this book.
The Perfect Main Character
Because every book needs that brave and amazing MC
Pick The Perfect Main Character
I think Audrey Rose Wadsworth is one of the best protagonist’s I’ve read. She’s determined and won’t let sexist societal traditions get in the way of her goal of studying forensic medicine. She’s also determined and doesn’t sacrifice her femininity to help solve murders.
The Perfect Best Friend
Because we always love that character who supports our MC, no matter what
Loyal and Supportive, Pick A Character That You Think Is The Best Friend Ever
Radu from And I Darken is one of the best characters, I adore him so much! He will do anything for his friends, especially Mehmed even at his own expense. I hope Radu gets everything he wants in the final book, Bright We Burn.
The Perfect Love Interest
Although not all stories need it, we all love a bit of romance
Pick A Character You Think Would Be An Amazing Romantic Partner
Hawke Snow because really who else would I pick 😂😂😂. Hawke is the Alpha of the Snow Dancer wolves in Nalini Singh’s Psy-Changeling series. When we first meet him is grumpy and a little too in touch with his wolf, however, as the series unfolds you uncover more of his personality and I love it all!
The Perfect Villain
Because even when sometime we hate them, we always need them
Pick A Character With The Most Sinister Mind
I pick Dead Eye from P.C. Cast’s Tales of a New World series. As a character he makes my skin crawl and I love to hate him which is exactly what you want for your villain.
The Perfect Family
Our book wouldn’t be the same without that unconditional support from the MC’s family
Pick a Perfect Bookish Family
Yes, yes I know I’ve chosen two book from the Psy-Changeling series but hey they are two different book so still counts. Mercy Smith’s family dynamic is one I completely adore. They love each other fiercely but don’t hold back from teasing and keeping each other grounded.
The Perfect Animal/Pet
Because we all need a good loyal companion?
Pick A Pet Or Fantastic Animal That You Need To See On A Book
I was tempted to say dragons … well because dragons but after a look at my shelves I chose the daemons from His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman. The daemons are one the my favourite creatures and I so wish they were real! How amazing would that be!
The Perfect Plot Twist
“OMG, how I didn’t see that coming!”
Pick A Book With The Best Plot Twist
This book has the perfect mix of action, an eclectic cast of characters and high stakes. This is an amazing book! And wow I did not see that coming, any of it!
The Perfect Trope
Pick That Trope You Would Add To Your Own Book Without Thinking
My all time favourite trope is the soul mates/mates trope and I need it my book and in my life always. A Court of Mist and Fury does this trope really well. It’s a shame the first and third book weren’t as good but I still love this world — Fae and the different courts — an excited for the next book!
The Perfect Cover
Because we all love a good, beautiful and artistic cover
Pick That Cover That You Would Easily Put In Your Own Book
I’m not a big fan of people on my covers. I prefer illustrated covers or those with patterns. With illustrated covers, I love when images related to the story and maybe don’t make much sense until you read the story. For example Jen Campbell’s story story collection The Beginning of the World in the Middle of the Night. Also I am a sucker a metallic foiling and naked hardbacks.
The Perfect Ending
Because every great adventure has an ending
Pick A Book That Has The Perfect Ending
I loved the ending on this book. It gave me the warm and fuzzies and that the same time I feel the action was resolve without feeling too convenient or too quick. This series is super creative think the Penny Dreadful series or The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen but with women! If you haven’t read, I highly recommend.
That’s all for me today. Comment down below to let me know which book you would have chosen or better yet if you want to do this tag, I tag you!
Until next time, happy reading,
Dearna
I’m so glad you did the Tag!! I LOVE your answers, super originals.💕 OMG, the soul mates trope, is EVERYTHING!, I completely forgot to include it in my post 😅, but I love it too, it’s great. And I need to read Wicked Saints so much, it sounds INCREDIBLE. I hope you’re having a great month 😊
