Hello,
This quarter has been my reading slow down significantly. I mostly blame work but I am hoping that moving into the later half of the year I will establish a better kind of work life balance!
I love these post so I thought I get back into the swing of blogging with sharing my reading starts for the second quarter of 2021. That’s right I am bringing the pie charts back! Yay for charts!
These stats look at all the books I’ve read in April, May and June. While I read them in 2021 not all the books have been released in 2021.

Reading Challenges
Goodreads
Goal: 100
Read: 45
Around the World in 52 Books:
Goal: 52
Read: 22
Romanceopoly
Goal: 39
Read: 8
Look at me being consistent and being behind on every challenge. I have been feeling pretty slumpy and sticking to a structured TBR wasn’t helping so instead I’ve been mood reading and mostly binging series, which at this stage is the only challenge I’m meeting!
To see the listed a prompts and which one’s I’ve crossed off head to my Reading Challenges page.

At this point in time I think I know my reading taste pretty well and am able to pick out which books I will enjoy. This is evident as most of the books that I’ve read are between 4 and 5 stars. I gave 5 books a 5 stars rating, 10 received 4.5 stars rating and 4 have received 4 stars.
The lowest rating I gave this quarter is 3 starts which went to Backstage by Erkia Vanzin which was a fun read but not one that I can remember the details of.
My average rating is 4.5 stars.

Here are my 5 star reads from April, May and June!

I am pretty surprised to see that Fantasy and Romance are tied for my favourite genre this month! My second most read genre is paranormal, which isn’t a big suprise since I have binge reading the Guild Hunter series so I’m up to date when Archangel’s Light is released is October. I did pick up a nonfiction title which isn’t something I reach for a whole lot
To break the genres down, I have read 7 romance books, 7 fantasy, 4 paranormal, 1 historical fiction and 1 nonfiction.

No surprises here that I am reading mostly adult books. Like always I would like to get to work YA and Middle Grade titles — in fact I have read no Middle Grade this quarter. Hopefully I can pick up some more this quarter.
I read 3 Young Adult and 17 Adult.

Physical books are my top format this quarter. I am beyond thrilled because this means I am finally getting to the books on my shelves!
I would love to get to more of my ARC since I feel bad for getting behind — it is causing me much anxiety. I am still thinking of doing a TBR jar type thing for my ARCs but I will wait until I’m back on the reading bandwagon.
I read a total of 15 physical books (13 paperbacks and 2 hardbacks) and 5 digital books (3 eBooks and 2 eArRCs)

I am still very much a series reader which is very much on brand for me. I’ve read 15 series books (3 first books and 12 sequels) compared to 5 standalones.
I am super thrilled! Another quarter where I have read more sequels and first books which means I might finally be finishing series rather than starting more. Fingers and toes crossed that this continues into the next quarter since it goes with my goal to a) finish more series and b) read my own damn books.

That’s all for me. Comment down below and let me know how you’re reading challenges are going so far and what books have been your favourite so far
Until next time, happy reading!
