“You see what you do to me? You turn me into a mad man, Ocean. Not your anyone. You. Your body.”
I will start by saying that I was given an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. These opinions are my own. Thank you so much to Devyn for sending a copy my way!
Three billionaire Alphas. A marriage of convenience. What can possibly go wrong?
Being an Omega is incredible. Being a fat Omega no one wants? Not so much.
But I don’t need to be wanted, I only need to survive. There’s five years left until I get my trust fund, and I can put my toxic, abusive, fatphobic family in my rearview mirror.
That’s my plan, and I’m sticking to it—until three Alphas offer my family a deal.
Three Alphas who are ridiculously rich, scorchingly hot, and claim they need me. For one year.
The deal: Marry them for one year to help save their company, and I walk away with my trust and my freedom. Simple. Easy. I don’t even blink before I sign on the dotted line.
I thought it was just a marriage of convenience and nothing more. I didn’t count on my husbands caring about me. Protecting me. Craving me. Seducing Me. Making me feel things I never have before.
Now a year doesn’t feel like long enough. But that’s what we agreed. One year, and we all walk away.
All good things come to an end. I just hope I can keep my heart from breaking when it does.
Oh my god! Yes! Yes! Yes! Priceless was perfection and so worth the wait. I have been dying for Ocean’s story since the first book, Endless. You could tell that she had been mistreated, and I needed to see her HEA. I adore Ocean’s story. The exploration of what it’s like to be a plus-size woman is authentically and beautifully handled. I adore Devyn’s Omegaverse. Clarity Coast is fast becoming my favourite Omegaverse series.
Ocean is essentially stuck in a conservatorship as she waits to access her trust fund. Her parents passed when she was younger and placed her in the care of her aunt and uncle until she could access her trust fund at 35. She is a plus sized woman, which is something her aunt and uncle constantly make snarky, harmful comments on, and they do horrible things like force her to wear a corset which is too small and locking the kitchen in a veiled attempt to “help” her get healthy and lose weight. You can feel that the years of this treatment have impacted Ocean’s own self-esteem. This isn’t a story about body positivity plus size, where the main character is in love with herself and her body. OOcean has good and bad days when it comes to her thoughts on her body. Through her marriage to the DuPont pack, she learns to love herself and feels more comfortable in her skin.
I loved that despite her family’s extreme control over Ocean, she does little things to obtain her autonomy. Ocean runs a florist store which caters to creating designs using floriography or the language of flowers. Her business is becoming wildly successful, but she hides her success from her uncle as she knows he will try and take over the business or want to funnel the capital into his own failing company. I also love how she creates designs for people she dislikes using flowers with negative meanings. It’s a small way for her to throw her middle finger up without rocking the boat. I melted with how sweet it was when the DuPont pack all brought her flowers, taking care to pick ones that conveyed their feeling toward her and the marriage, knowing that she would understand the secret meaning. It was so sweet and left me smiling like an idiot.
The DuPont pack was pure perfection. Alphas Everett, Micah and Cameron fell first, and they fell hard. The company board is pushing them to get married so they can help sanitise their party playboy image. The trio are planning on overruling the board’s request when, at a party, they see Ocean. They are instantly drawn to her, and when they catch her scent and know that she’s their scent-matched omega, they devise a plan to marry her. They are business partners with Ocean’s uncle, and their upcoming deal includes the clause that they need to marry Ocean. While the trio are head over heels, they feel Ocean doesn’t understand her worth. Some come up with the marriage of convincing to give them time to show Ocean that they are serious. Everett is the business mastermind behind their company. He is our gruff, no-nonsense alpha who’s always in control. Micah is the sweet alpha. He’s an artist and head designer of the company. Then we have Cameron, who is the playful rake of the group. He’s in charge of marketing departments. They are really the best of all worlds. I am fully obsessed with them.
I am a simp for the marriage of convenience trope. Add in the fact the alphas know that they are scent matches but know that will cause Ocean to run, so they come up with a force proximity situation. This was perfection. We have the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. I adore the little moments where they prove they can care for her, like Cameron getting an oversized hoodie and wearing it around for days so she’ll have an item of clothing of his she can wear, and the posts they make with the wedding photos with sweet little captions – I swooned so hard. And then we have some excellent steamy scenes, especially when they head overseas for their honeymoon. I’m looking at you temple scene – boy did I need to cool down after that one!
I loved how Ocean opened up to her best friends, Isolde and Trinity. I adore their friendship and how endlessly supportive they are of each other. I understand why Ocean didn’t tell them things earlier, but I’m so glad that she had a safe space to talk things through.
I adored everything about Priceless. The balance between sweet, swoon romance and high steam heat scenes was perfect. The urge to reread Priceless right away is high. We learned more about Trinity, and I am excited for her to get a HEA. If you are a fan of Omegaverse, love a why-choose romance, or adore plus-size representation, do yourself a favour and pick up Priceless. I cannot recommend it enough.
