Lit Chat: Oh, The Places You’ll Go

Hello!

I am here with the first part of a new series here called Lit Chat. This series was inspired by Lauren from Lauren and the Books over on YouTube and the Lit Chat cards created by BookRiot.

This will be the 1st of 100 blog posts. Yep that’s right 100! Each post with relate to one of the Lit Chat cards. And I am so excited to get this series started!

The first card I picked was Oh, The Places You’ll Go.

Is there a book that inspired to travel somewhere? What is that destination?

I read a lot of Historical Fiction which constantly makes me want to travel and see the remains left of these events and these people’s lives. My favourite time period is Mediaeval Europe in particular anything related to the Plantagenet kings.  But I’ve always wanted to go to the England and Scotland, because my Dad is from Scotland and I still have family in England. But I’d never had much interest in Wales until I read the first book in Sharon Penman’s The Welsh Princes series in 2015. The way she describes the landscape and the culture of the Welsh clans had me totally enchanted and wishing I was there.

Have you ever taken a literary-themed vacation?

Unfortunately I haven’t, but I’ve always wanted to travel to Turkey ever since I was 7 or 8 and mum first told me about the Trojan War. One day I will go with her and we’ve visit the fallen city of Troy. Also recently I’ve read The Odyssey and would love to follow Odysseus’ trek back to Ithaka.

That’s it for me. Comment down below and let me know what book has inspired you to travel and where? Also have you taken a literary-themed vacation?

Until next time, happy reading!
