Hello!
I’m here today with another Lit Chat. This series was inspired by Lauren from Lauren and the Books over on YouTube and the Lit Chat cards created by BookRiot.
Today’s card is The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry
What do you love most about books?
I’ve been thinking about this question for weeks. It’s really hard to encapsulate all the things I love about books and even harder to say want I love most about books.
Readings offer so much. Gives you the chance to escape from reality for the while. Books are entertaining. It can also teach you about everything and anything you want to know about: Science, music, history, culture.
I love the reading gives me the ability to experience different perspectives from my own. Whether that’s different genders, races, classes or even time periods. While I might not always agree with the perspective or it might be uncomfortable, it does offer me the opportunity to understand and empathise with them, which ultimately dares me to grow. Dares me to expand my understanding of the way the world works and the people and cultures around me.
What’s your preferred reading style? Are you a fan of hardcovers? Paperbacks? Ebooks? What determines your choice?
I do prefer reading a physical book over Ebooks but at the same time I do read a fair few eBooks and love how easy they made it to carry around all the books you want.
In terms of which physical book type I prefer — either paperback or hardback — I own more paperbacks but I do go out and buy pretty hardback copies of my favourite books. So I will say hardbacks.
That’s it for me. Comment down below and let me know what you love most about books!
Until next time, happy reading!
