Why I can’t wait to read this

I adore Joanna Courtney’s writing, she is one of my all time favourite historical fiction authors. I also loved the first book in this series, Blood Queen, which tell the true story of Lady Macbeth.

I don’t know much about Hamlet and Ophelia as it wasn’t one of the Shakespeare plays that I’ve studied. Not sure if I will read more into these characters or just want to read this book.

I’m interested to see if this queen is also from the Iron Age as this time period does seem to be Courtney’s sweet spot as currently all her books are set in this time period.
