Hello,
I am here today with my second Romanceopoly TBR and I am so excited!
Like the name suggests, it’s romanced themed Monopoly game which is designed to get you to explore a range of different sub genres. Each neighbourhood has been replaced by a genre and each street has a unique challenge within that genre. Although, some neighbourhoods are a little more diverse and offer a melting pot of different genres to delve into.
The challenge is hosted by the ladies over at PeaceLoveBooksxo and Under the Covers Book Blog. For all the information about the challenge and recommendations can be found at the Romanceopoly website.
I’ve decided that I’m going to make my way around the board using the scenic route option to move around this board. For this route I’ll start at the “Go” square, roll the dice and move forward the number of squares I’ve rolled.
There are 39 streets and amenities all with their own unique prompt to complete. Since I flew through my Jan TBR in the first two weeks on January I’ve decided at add an extra roll for February.
On to the books and prompts!
First Roll
Read a mystery where the main character is an amateur sleuth
I’ve just finished the first book in the Lady Sherlock series and this prompt is the perfect prompt to pick up the sequel.
This is a gender-swapped Sherlock Holmes retelling and it is all kinds of amazing. I’m sure I’m missing a lot of the nuanced changes Sherry Thomas has made as I’ve have yet to read the original tales but overall I’m enjoying these books. I adore the dynamic between Charlotte Holmes and Mrs. Watson.
In this book, Lady Ingram, wife of Charlotte’s dear friend and benefactor, wants Sherlock Holmes to find her first love, who failed to show up at their annual rendezvous.
Second Roll
Read a book where you and the author share at least one initial
Ella and I share the same surname initial, M.
Marriage for One is a marriage of convince story. Jack proposes to Rose — also anyone else thinking of Titanic? — on the first day they met.
I’ve heard this is a super slow burn which isn’t a huge surprise since the book is over 500 pages long. Also Jack is a grumpy hero, which apart from rockstars are my weakness.
Honestly I don’t know much more about this book but I’ve heard amazing buzz about it and I’m always on the look out for new romance authors.
Third Roll
Read a best friends sibling romance
So not only is this book a brother’s best friend romance it’s also a rockstar romance and a sports romance.
I think from memory their may be a love triangle in here but I have it on good authority that it’s handled well and it’s not obvious which guy Stevie is going to end up with. I’m sure there is going to be all the angst my little heart desires.
Also can we take a moment to appreciate that cover? I’m in love 😍😍😍
Fourth Roll
Read a paranormal with a vampire or shifter hero or heroine
While I had been avoiding vampire novels for a while, I have recently been craving some sexy vamps in my life and this series seems to be THE vampire series to read.
I’m pretty much the last person on the planet to read this 😂😂😂 but we follow the only pureblood vampire and leader of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Wrath, has a score to settle with the slayers who killed his parents centuries ago. However he’s when he’s most skilled fighter is killed, Wrath takes it upon himself with protecting the man’s half-breed daughter, Beth Randall.
It has vampires and sexy time and that’s really all I need to know. And if I like it there is 17 another books to get too.
Final Roll
Read a book where it has a white, blue and or silver cover; has snow on the cover; has a winter word in the title; is a winter holiday read; all or any combination
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book and I think the title and the snowy background are perfect for this challenge. Also perfect for me since I’m trying to get on top of my ARC pile.
The Blizzard Bride is a historical romance set 1888 Nebraska, America. Abigail Bracey is new two town she’s been hired as a teacher but also to assist the government to identify which student has is the hidden son of the murderous counterfeiter.
Agent Dashiell Lassiter follows Abigail to Nebraska to protect her. They are childhood sweethearts so I’m getting a second-chance romance vibe which is a new favourite trope of mine!
That’s all for me. Comment down below and let me know which books are you reading this month.
Until next time, happy reading!
