June Romanceopoly TBR

Hello,

I am here today with my next Romanceopoly TBR. The board is getting pretty full which is going to make it interesting. One side only has one prompt left.

Like the name suggests, it’s romanced themed Monopoly game which is designed to get you to explore a range of different sub genres. Each neighbourhood has been replaced by a genre and each street has a unique challenge within that genre. Although, some neighbourhoods are a little more diverse and offer a melting pot of different genres to delve into.

The challenge is hosted by the ladies over at PeaceLoveBooksxo and Under the Covers Book Blog. For all the information about the challenge and recommendations can be found at the Romanceopoly website.

I’ve decided that I’m going to make my way around the board using the scenic route option to move around this board. For this route I’ll start at the “Go” square, roll the dice and move forward the number of squares I’ve rolled.

There are 39 streets and amenities all with their own unique prompt to complete. As usual, I will still do 5 rolls to determine my TBR, even though I pretty much failed by May Romanceopoly — I only completed 1 of the 5 challenges thanks to a reading slump. So I will be trying to complete the 4 May books along these June picks

On to the books and prompts!

First Roll

Roll Four Jun

Soldier Street

Read a romance suspense where the heroine or hero is in an action pose on the cover

Lethal Redemption

I read Deadly Obsession last month and I really enjoyed it. Also we get a glimpse of this couple and honestly I need to know more. I couldn’t wait to get to this one and this prompt seemed like the perfect excuse to get to this story ASAP!

Top FBI profiler Grace Steele was just a girl when she escaped the Order of the New Dawn, and she’s spent the last seventeen years trying to forget her time there. But when private security firm Steele Ops needs her help extracting a young woman from the secretive cult’s clutches, she’s all in. Even though the mission requires posing as the fiancée of her childhood sweetheart and the man who broke her heart, Cade Wright.

I love a second chance romance. I cannot wait to see how this pans out. Also we have a cult which is something I find endless fascinating.

Second Roll

Roll Two Jun

Emergency Services

Read a romance where the heroine or hero is fireman or police officer

Hot to the Touch

I’ve been wanting to read a Jaci Burton novel for the longest time. And this series sound perfect for the challenge. I’ve also never read a firefighter romance and all I can say is that my body is ready.

Firefighter Jackson Donovan doesn’t look back–as a rule. So when his past comes roaring back to life in the form of not-so-damsel-in-distress Becks Benning, the last thing he wants to do is relive old times.

Jackson sounds like he’s going to be a grumpy hero which is something I love. Becks is a tattoo artist, which is awesome.

Third Roll

Roll Three Jun

Beau Boulevard

Read a young adult novel consider a classic

Fangirl

I have never been a big fan of contemporary novels until I start reading romance last year, so I never got around to reading Fangirl. I’m not sure if I will love it as much as I would have if I had read it when I was in my late teens but I’m excited to see what all the hype is about.

Cath is a Simon Snow fan. She and her twin sister ensconced themselves in the series, its want got them through their mother leaving. Her twin has mostly grown away from the fandom but Cath can’t let it go. She is starting college and her twin has told her that she doesn’t want to the roommates. Cat is on her own and outside of her comfort zone.

I also figured that if I end up loving this, I can go and read Rainbow Rowell’s Simon Snow duet, which is based on the fan fiction written in this story.

Fourth Roll

Roll Four Jun

Past Eaves

Read a historical fiction

My Darling Duke

My Darling Duke was featured in Bae Crate’s January box. I’m still new to the historical romance genre but I trust their recommendations as I have loved the books I’ve gotten from their boxes.

I don’t know much about this expect that the heroine, Katherine Danvers, announces herself as the fiancée of reclusive Duke of Thronton is hopes of improving her family’s financial situation. And it’s all going well, until the Duke comes to the city to meet his fiancée.

I love love love this set up and can’t wait to see how this plays out.

Final Roll

Final roll Jun

Burger Joint

Read a book on Romanceopoly’s book girlfriend list

Magic Bites

I know I know I love urban fantasy I haven’t even read the Kate Daniels series. But that is about to change. I know that the first books isn’t meant to be the best but the world and magic system sounds incredible.

One moment magic dominates, and cars stall and guns fail. The next, technology takes over and the defensive spells no longer protect your house from monsters. Kate Daniels likes her sword a little too much and has a hard time controlling her mouth. The magic in her blood makes her a target. When Kate’s guardian is murdered, she must choose either to do nothing and remain safe or to pursue his preternatural killer. Hiding is easy, but the right choice is rarely easy

We have shifter is this world which I love. There is mention of werebears and werehyeans. I wonder what other shifts we will have. Also the vampires in this book sounds weird and all kinds of wonderful.

  1. OMG – I just hope you’ll fall in love with Kate and Curran, just keep in mind that their relationship is rather slow burn. I didn’t appreciate it when I first read this series, until my first re-read. Now I re-read them all the time, and it’s my most favorite series EVER. 😀 Have fun!!!
