Hello,
I am here today with my first TBR of the year — I was planing on doing one for January buuuut I left it way to late. Since I am a big mood reader I only select a handful of books for my TBR so there is still freedom to pick up whatever else I’d like. I’m going to share with you 5 Romanceopoly picks and 2 books from my finishing series challenge.
On to the books and prompts!

The Romanceopoly challenge is hosted by the ladies over at PeaceLoveBooksxo and Under the Covers Book Blog. For all the information about the challenge and recommendations can be found at the Romanceopoly website.
I’ve decided that I’m going to make my way around the board using the scenic route option to move around this board. For this route I’ll start at the “Go” square, roll the dice and move forward the number of squares I’ve rolled.
I need to complete the Moon board, which I didn’t get around to finishing last year due to a reading slump. So the first four will be from the Moon board and the last one will be from the Sun board which I will try and complete this year.
First Roll

Read a book from Romaceopoly’s book girlfriend list

I know, I know I love paranormal romance/urban fantasy and I haven’t read the Kate Daniels series. I’ve heard this isn’t the best book in the series, which is probably what put me off. But not anymore! I will be reading this one! Thank you Romanceopoly for finally making me read this series.
This series does have one of the coolest magic systems. From what little I know at any given time there can be magic or technology. So is you’re able to use magic than TVs and computers don’t work. Also we have cat shifters which I am excited for!
Second Roll

Read a romance where the couple meet at their place of work

I know the couple in this book don’t start dating after they meet at work and there is an online dating element but I’m counting it. I know they work at university and the heroine is friends with a group of guys and she’s always been one of the guys. The group have a gala to attend for work and they group makes a pact that they will find a plus one to the event through a date app.
This will be my second Christina Lauren read and I’m looking forward to it. I haven’t heard many people talk about this one. I know that this author duo’s books can be hit or miss so I’m hopeful that I enjoy it.
Third Roll

Read a romantic suspense where the hero or heroine is in an action pose on the cover

Honestly look at this cover! I think it is perfect for this challenge. If that isn’t an action pose I’m not sure what is!
This is the second book in April Hunt’s Steele Ops series. I haven’t read much romantic suspense so I didn’t think this would be for me but I adored the first book! It gives me Criminal Minds vibes which I love since it’s one of my favourite shows.
Lethal Redemption follows FBI profiler, Grace Steele and Cade Wright as they help a girl escape a secretive cult. This is a second chance romance which I love!
Fourth Roll

Read a historical fiction novel
I don’t know too much about this book. It was included in Bae Crate’s Once Upon a Time January 2020 box. I trust these ladies’ recommendations — I have enjoyed everything I’d read from their boxes. I am very new to the historical romance genre so am happy to follow their lead.
Given the box’s theme, I’m assuming that there is a fairytale element. Maybe a slight Beauty and the Beast retelling. Which sounds all kind of wonderful. Also good to know that if I enjoy it, there are other books in this series.
Final Roll

Read a contemporary romance with a nerdy hero or heroine
This is another Bae Crate book — from the 2020 December’s The Sunggle is Real box. As a running theme for this post, I honestly don’t know much about this book.
Our heroine’s friends convince her to ditch her frumpy cardigans for a night out when she finds out her department is on the funding cut chopping block. She leave her work stress behind and follows a new to-do list. The first point is to let a a cute guy buy her a drink.
For the full synopsis of each of these book click on the image it will take you to the related goodreads page!

This year I want to make sure I’m finish some of the series that I’ve been in the middle of for years.
I put the title on a TBR wheel. Each month I will spin the wheel twice. And if I pick up a book that is later in the series, I pick read the book I am up to.
First Spin
Second Spin
In the Guild Hunter Series, I am only up to Archangel’s Heart so I will be reading that in the place of Archangel’s Viper.

That’s all for me. Comment down below and let me know which books are you reading this month.
Until next time, happy reading!
