Sofia Rose is an author I’ve been meaning to pick up for a while now. When I saw her newest release was a why choose omegaverse set at university, I was sold! I loved the cosy academia vibes. It was the perfect pick-me-up after a long, stressful day.

Elodie has her whole life ahead of her. She’s landed a role in an advanced science program at Rosewood University, which allows her to study her speciality of entomology. Elodie has one goal. To dive into her studies and learn how to be the best researcher she can be. Finding a pack is not on her radar whatsoever, despite running into Pack Whitmore’s four alphas. Alphas she can’t help but be drawn to. Jamie, Adrian, Alex and Chase are equally drawn to Elodie and are willing to do whatever it takes to prove that she can have it all and they will be there to support her. Can Elodie keep her sense of identity and focus on her studies while pursuing a relationship with the pack? Or will she need to choose? Cue the drama!

Elodie is a nerd, a girl after my heart. I normally can’t stand bugs, but it was fascinating to learn more about them. Elodie isn’t interested in packs or “traditional” omega stuff and things, as she’s worried people won’t take her seriously and will only ever see her as her designation. She’s cautious and stubborn, which is so relatable. I love how her studies into bug habits help her feel comfortable being an omega. She realises she can be both an omega and a scientist. 

Jamie, Adrian, Alex and Chase are an established pack and are currently the most eligible pack on campus. The guys have just been reunited as Jamie and Adrian have started university. I loved the little slice-of-life moments we get at the pack house as we get a look at the found family they’ve created. I was squealing each time they met Elodie because boy do they fall hard and don’t we love to see it. 

There is one thing I will never get enough of in a cozy/sweet omegaverse. And that’s the courting. There is something about a bunch of alphas proving that they are worthy of their omega that makes me swoon. Any man who’s willing to track down an expensive first edition book of my niche interest at first sight to woo me is a man after my heart. I loved seeing all the dates the guys took her on and seeing how the relationships differ. I am a sucker for a why choose, and seeing how Pack Whitemore all support Elodie in their own way is something I love. 

I wish there were more time between the third act conflict & the heat scene. Elodie has been telling the guys how she was hesitant about packs & they do a fantastic job of showing her they will support her until her heat looks like it’s drawing near. Pack Whitemore — Chase in particular, but the others don’t argue — say she needs to cancel the trip. Selfishly, I wanted more grovelling because our girl deserved it. 

Elodie grew up with Beta parents, not really knowing much about omegas outside what was taught in health classes. I adored her roommate, Sophie, who’s also studying pack dynamics. Sophie helps Elodie realise packs come in all shapes and sizes and the examples she’s been shown weren’t healthy relationships. This also helped explain the omegaverse elements without it feeling like the world-building was dumped on you in the opening chapter. 

Ultimately, I enjoyed this one. I love me a cosy omegaverse and this hit the spot. It gave me all the warm and fuzzy feelings. I am so excited for the next book in this series, which will follow Sophie. I adored her bubbly personality. She’s Elodie’s biggest cheerleader and best friend. I’m excited to see her story!
