Quarterly Check-in

Hello,

2020 is offical over! I am sure we are all thrilled about this. Since we have started a new year I thought give a little update my reading challenges and overall stats for the fourth and final quarter of 2020.

Also there are pie charts! Yay for charts!

These stats look at all the books I’ve read so far in 2020, with a little disclaimer that not all the books have been released in 2020.

I tired by best to catch up with these reading challenges. I’m sad I didn’t get them finished, especially Romanceopoly, but I did fall into a bit of a reading slump at the end of the year.

To see the listed a prompts and which one’s I’ve crossed off head to my Reading Challenges page.

Star Ratings

Even though I didn’t much this quarter, it was actually the lowest amount of book I read in a quarter, most of the books that I’ve read are between 4 and 5 stars. I gave 4 books 5 stars, 11 have received 4.5 stars and 8 have received 4 stars. The lowest rating I gave this quarter is 3 which is pretty awesome because it still means I enjoyed the book.

My average rating is 4.2 stars.

5 star reads

Here are my 5 star reads from October, November and December!

Genres Read

My love of romance know no bounds! 59% of the books I’ve read this quarter was romance. My second most read genre is paranormal, which really is the mix of romance and urban fantasy. I did pick up a few literary books which is a genre I don’t tend to read a lot of.

To break the genres down, I have read 17 romance books, 6 paranormal, 1 historical fiction and 3 fantasy and 2 literary books.

Target Audience

Most of the books I’m reading are for an adult audience which make sense since most of the book I did read where romance or paranormal. Hopefully next year I can get to some of the YA and middle grade books on my shelves.

I read 2 Middle Grade, 1 Young Adult and 26 Adult.

Formate

eBooks are my top format for this quarter (11 ebook and 5 digital ARC). I would love to get to more of my ARC since I feel bad for getting behind. Maybe I’ll do a TBR jar type thing for my ARCs. I read a total of 13 physical books (12 paperback and 1 hardback) which I’m pretty happy with. I would love to get to a few more since the number of unread books on my shelve is causes me stress 😂😂😂

Series or Standalone

I am still very much a series reader. I’ve read 25 series books (9 first books and 16 sequels) compared to 4 standalones.

I am super thrilled! This is the first quarter were I have read more sequels and first books. I might finally be finishing series rather than starting more. Fingers and toes crossed that this continues into the next quarter since it goes with my goal to a) finish more series and b) read my own damn books.
