“I love you. No strings. No expectations. Just you.”
I will start by saying that I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. These opinions are my own. Thank you so much to Devyn for sending a copy my way!
From the outside my life is perfect. Inside, no one can hear me screaming.
Being the only Omega in your friend group who’s single is the worst. Being alone while your friends are happily bonded? Even less fun.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my friends, and I’m happy for them. But nothing erases the No one wants me. Not even the people meant to be my family.
Until them.
A chance meeting throws me in the path of the hottest Alphas I’ve ever seen. They’re powerful, dominant, and entirely intoxicating. And they want me. Not just for a night— they want forever.
It doesn’t feel real. I’m too loud, too much, and too broken. But these Alphas? They’ll stop at nothing to prove me wrong.
Between chasing the biggest break of my career and finally learning what it’s like to be loved, every secret I’ve tried to hide is rising to the surface. Breaking my silence might shatter me, but, for the first time, I know there will be someone to pick up the pieces.
When danger from both present and past threaten everything, I have to remember my new I’m not alone anymore.
For too long, secrets have kept me silent. Now it’s time to find my voice.
We finally have Trinity’s book! And the wait was so worth it. Speechless was a wonderful exploration of dealing with childhood trauma, learning your worth, and finding your people, with a healthy dose of kink. Not going to lie, I devoured this the minute the ARC hit my emails.
Trinity is a hopeless romantic and loves being an omega but is also a workaholic. She works at a magazine and has been promoted to editor. But since the promotion, she’s missed researching, interviewing and chasing a story. Trinity decides to writes a feature on the local kink club, Element. She’s been given the chance to attend the club for an interview. Things are going well until she interrupts a scene, mistaking play for a cry for help. She’s given the choice. She can either leave or, like other patrons of the club, face a punishment. Trinity has been interested in the lifestyle, and when the Breaker pack offers to dole out the punishment, she agrees. The Breaker pack recognise Trinity as their scent match. They weren’t expecting Trinity to treat it as a one-off. When the pack bumped into her again, through their parents, they jumped at the chance to help her, as Trinity’s apartment had been broken into. She needs a place to stay. Trinity will move in, and they can explore their connection. Will the Breaker Pack be able to show Trinity that she is worthy of love, or will she be too wrapped up in chasing the biggest break of her career, despite the brewing danger?
I’ve been waiting for Trinity’s book. She’s been Isolde and Ocean’s number 1 hype girl. I’m so glad we finally get to see more of her. We learn pretty quickly that beneath Trinity’s hopeless romantic and confident self is someone desperate for love and terrified that she is unworthy of it. My heart aches for her. I just wanted to hug her. Watching her find a safe space and being able to confront her father and his pack was incredible.
Now on to the pack, we first meet Theo, Logan, Bastain and Brooks at the club as they volunteer to help with Trinity’s punishment. I absolutely loved this meet-cute. These guys are all in. Not only is Trinity their scent match, but she’s their perfect kinky match. Besides their love of kink, the guys are all athletes. Logan is a professional surfer, Theo is a retired Olympic swimmer, Bastian is an MMA fighter, and Brooks, his twin, is Bastian’s trainer. We do have a slight build-a-pack moment—which is one of my all-time favourite micro tropes—as Trinity’s investigation leads them to Aiden, the hacker for Priceless. The rest of the pack warmly welcomed Aiden in.
Can we get a shout-out to the Breaker pack for being upfront about being scent matches? In this world, omegas don’t recognise their scent matches until their heat. Honesty is important and love love love that they did this. To no one’s surprise, kink is a big element of this story. I love the healthy way kink is depicted. Especially as Trinity and the guys are into some hardcore kinks, such as free use, full-time dynamics and training. Yes, this leads to some delicious steamy scenes (looking at you, primal scene). We also get several caretaking scenes that left me all gooey. It’s like the dynamic provides Trinity with structure and clarity that allows her to stop pushing through and finally deal with her childhood trauma. This slowly unfolds as their relationship develops, which is perfectly paced.
On top of this incredible romance with a healthy depiction of kink and Trinity having a safe space to process her abandonment issues, another plot is unfolding. The article Trinity is working on will expose several companies that may be using an eco-friendly project to restore the local reef while illegally dumping toxic waste. She’s following the clues left by the magazine’s late editor. Her investigation draws the attention of some dangerous people who want to silence her. Honestly, in that last act, my heart was in my throat. The way Devyn balanced all these elements is *chef’s kiss*. Honestly, I have no idea how she does it, but I am in awe of her skills.
A little side note, but I love the disability representation we have in here. From Trinity’s diabetes and ADHD to Bastien’s vocal cord injury and Brooks’ own mental health issues. They were handled beautifully and helped to make the characters feel fully developed.
It’s safe to say I am obsessed. Devyn Sinclair is one of my auto buy authors and this was fantastic. Speechless is the last book in the Clarity Coast Omegaverse. I am not quite ready to leave this world behind, so I will 100% be rereading the first books in the series. I’m excited to see what she writes next.
